THE LOCAL AREA
The Val di Sole is the largest branch of the Val di Non, in north-west Trentino. It borders the Ortler Alps to the north, the Tonale Pass to the east and the Brenta Adamello-Dolomites to the south.
The valley runs along the Noce river up to the artificial lake of Santa Giustina, near Cles. The Val di Non railway runs through the valley, up to its capital Malè, and was recently extended to reach the Marilleva ski area.
